      2003年回國后被中山大學腫瘤防治中心聘為副研究員,組建腫瘤病毒學和腫瘤分子標志研究組;2006年聘為研究員,博士生導師,同年入選“教育部新世紀優秀人才計劃”; 2010年入選廣東省“千百十人才國家級培養對象”,并獲2010年“國家杰出青年科學基金”項目資助;2016年入選廣東省高層次人才特殊支持計劃“杰出人才”(南粵百杰)?,F任中山大學腫瘤防治中心副主任、副院長,中國抗癌協會理事,廣東省抗癌協會第四屆理事會常務理事、秘書長,中國抗癌協會腫瘤標志專業委員會副主任委員,中國抗癌協會腫瘤微環境專業委員會副主任委員。當選2022年Gordon Research Conference國際鼻咽癌會議主席,曾任國際EB病毒及相關疾病協會理事,兼任Cancer communications,Scientific Data等雜志編委。長期致力于病毒與腫瘤的基礎研究,發表高水平收錄論文70余篇。2018年以第一完成人的項目“EB病毒相關鼻咽癌病因、發病機制及其分子標志”獲得廣東省自然科學獎一等獎。

    科研成就
      回國后組建腫瘤病毒學和腫瘤分子標志研究組,首次完成鼻咽癌相關EBV全序列分析,發現鼻咽癌相關的EBV序列特征【J Virol 2005,入選第一屆中國百篇最具影響優秀國際學術論文(科技部直屬中國科學技術信息研究所評選)】,證實高發區NPC相關EBV亞型的假設;揭示吸煙可以通過激活EBV參與鼻咽癌發病的新機制。發現EBV-LMP2A通過誘導上皮間質轉化和腫瘤啟動細胞群體參與鼻咽癌發生發展的新機制;發現EBV可以誘導原癌基因Bmi-1的表達,闡明Bmi-1在鼻咽上皮細胞早期轉化和鼻咽癌侵襲和轉移中的作用,揭示PTEN/PI3K/Akt/Snail通路介導Bmi-1誘導上皮間質轉化和腫瘤轉移的新機制。建立首個單一原癌基因誘導的鼻咽上皮細胞永生化模型和EBV高效感染上皮細胞的體外模型,鑒定出EBV感染上皮細胞的關鍵受體或共受體(NRP1、MHC-IIA、EphA2等),系統闡明EBV進入鼻咽上皮細胞的機制,近期聯合上海藥物研究所余學奎課題組報道了高分辨率EBV病毒衣殼全原子結構模型,為鼻咽癌預防和干預研究提供了新思路。揭示了食管鱗狀上皮細胞癌的癌前病變的基因組特征及其與腫瘤的演化發展關系,發現新融合基因RARS-MAD1L1及其在鼻咽癌和頭頸腫瘤中作用與機制。至2020年止,作為主持人牽頭國家重點研發計劃1項、主持國家自然科學基金重點項目和國際合作重大項目共4項、“863”課題及“973”課題各1項等。發表高水平收錄論文70余篇,包括國際上重要專業性雜志Nature Microbiol, Cell Res, Cancer Cell, J Clin Invest, Nature Commun, PNAS, J Natl Cancer Inst, PLoS Pathog, EMBO Mol Med, EMBO Rep, Cancer Res, Clin Cancer Resh, Ann Oncol, Mol Cancer, J Virol, J Biol Chem等。
